Senator Ali Modu Sheriff congratulated Ahmed Makarfi over the judgement which reinstated him as the authentic leader of the People’s Democratic Party
- The former Borno state governor urged members of the party to come together and channel a new course forward
- According to Sheriff, the party must now focus its attention on reclaiming power from the ruling All Progressives Congress
Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the sacked national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has finally reacted to the judgement of the Supreme Court which ruled in favor of Ahmed Makarfi.
The ousted former chairman posted his response on his twitter handle, @SenAliSheriff.

The Supreme Court has spoken. I congratulate Senator Makarfi. We must all put our hands together to channel a new course for the PDP

The Supreme Court’s ruling booting Sheriff out of office follows a long protracted battle within the party between the Sheriff and Makarfi factions.
Various reactions from party members have trailed the decision since.
Recall that previously the Supreme Court on Wednesday, July 12, removed Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), reinstating Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic leader.
The five man panel of the apex court led by the chief justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen, in its judgment delivered, reinstated Makarfi who was earlier sacked by the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal, as the National Caretaker Committee chairman.
