HISTORICAL DATES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..

The united states has so many positive and negative historical events that has taken place,some of these events occurred before and after independence, some of these events were both good and bad at some point when a bad event takes place American struggled day and night to see the light.these events centered on wars,discoveries,terrorist attacks,politics-the peaceful and smooth transition of power from one administration to another.

THESE IMPORTANT DATES ARE.

1607:British colonists discovered Jamestown colony on 14,may 1607,and it was named after king James 1 of England.

1692:Hundreds of people were accused of practicing witchcraft,Nineteen of them were hanged after conviction of practicing witchcraft.

1754:The war between India and French began,this war lasted for 10years from(1754-1763).it started as a result of the land dispute and these lands were (the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers).

1773:Imposition of mutiple taxes by British colonist led to American Revolutionary war.

1775:American Revolution started due to the stamp Act of 1765.

1776:John Adams,Robert Livingston,Thomas Jefferson,Roger Sherman and Benjamin Franklin drafted the declaraction of American independence.

1787:A constitution was written to establishe the united state government,in the document the executive,judicial and legislative arms of government were established.

1803:The United states acquired 828,000 square miles of land in louisana territory,these land was formerly owned by the france.

1804:the northern states of America abolished slavery.

1812:America declared war against British Empire this led to the damage of washington including the white house.

1836:Two texan troops were killed by the battle between General Santa Anna that attacked Alalo Mission.

1846:United states invaded mexico city,this invation led to Mexican-American war which started on 25,April 1846 and ended on 3,Feb 1848(1yr 9months).America took over Mexico and califonia.

1848:Many people relocated to california after gold was discovered at sutter's mill a california sawmill.

1861:Civil war began.

1863:Three million slaves were granted freedom by Abraham Lincoln with the emacipation proclamation.

1865:Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at ford's theatre on April 14th,1865 by John Wilkes Booth.

1898:The war between United States and Spain began,it started as a result of American's interferrence in the cuba war of self-government.

1914:World war began due to the policies of many European Empires,it began in 1914 and in 1917 United States joined,the war was between France,Russia,United kingdom,Germany and Austria-Hungary.

1920:Women were granted the right to vote during elections.

1929:United States suffered a great depression which lasted for 10yrs as a result of stock market crash.

1941:Pearl Harbor,a Hawaiian naval base was attacked by Japanese so as to prevent the United States from interfering in Japanese millitary movements.

1944:More than 9,000 American gallant soliders were killed.

1945:The first atomic bomb was built by an American scientist,this was one of Manhattan project that worth close to $3billion.

1950:United States supported the Republic of Korea in war between the Democratic people's Republic and the Republic of Korea.

1954:The separation of school between the white Americans and black Americans ended due to the decision of supreme court.

1955:United States supported South Vietnam in a war between Northern and Southern Vietnam,this war lasted for 21yrs(1955-1975).

1963:Lee Harvey oswald assassinated John F.Kennedy,and Oswald was convited of murder he was also killed by Jack Ruby.

1968:Martin Luther King was a civil rights leader who was assassinated by James Earl Ray in April 14,1968.

1969:Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong landed on the moon on July 20,1969, thus, becoming the first people to step on the moon,America is great.

1990:Persian Gulf war began due to Iraq invaded Kuwait(1990-1991).

1995:Oklahoma city bombing began,168 people were killed during the attack which was from Timothy Mcveigh and Terry Nichols.

2000:George bush became the president of United States of America after the election between George bush and Al Gore.And he was re-elected in 2004.

2001:A deadliest event occurred in America,terrorist took over four airplanes on september 11,2001,they crashed two the airplanes in the world trade center in New York City and one in Pentagon,and the fourth airplane in Shanksvile,Pennsylvania.

2005:The famous Hurricane katrina one of the deadliest events occured in the histrory of this great Nation(America)killing more than 2000 citizens.

2008:The first African-American Barack Obama became the president of United State of America.

2011:Osama Bin Laden the head of al-Qaeda terrorist group that were responsible for the attack of September 11,2011 was killed by the United States forces,they invaded Osama's house in pakistan and killed him on the spot.

2017:Donald Trump took over as the president of United States of America.
