Awaken The Authority Instinct In You.
One thing we humans always look for is safety.
And one of the most common and instinctive ways of doing this is by finding safety in numbers.
We generally don't feel comfortable doing anything unless we see other people going first.
At the same time, we are hierarchical animals.
Every time they test this, and every way they test this, it always comes out that way.
Humans are self-organizing, hierarchical creatures.
So are chimps.
And the higher up a chimp is on the food chain, the more sex he gets.
And the more bananas he gets.
And since we also line up according to hierarchy, AND we split from chimps over 6 million years ago, it's not hard to see how much this social hierarchy plays into our daily lives.
Meaning the higher up we are on this hierarchy, the better off we'll be.
For a long time, this was fine.
So long as society stuck into a basic structure.
So long as everybody followed the rules.
But in the last decade or so, it's become every human for themselves.
The inherent structure that has been the glue of society is coming undone.
But our hierarchy instinct is just as powerful as it was 6 million years ago.
So is our tendency to seek safety in numbers.
But here's the thing.
The MORE you seek safety in numbers, the LESS social status you have.
The higher up you are on the food chain, the more authority you have.
The more you seek the safety of numbers, the more social proof you have.
The more you have of one, the less you have of the other.
If you seek social proof at the expense of personal authority, it's easy to get left behind.
Not physically, but socially.
Ignored.
Not recognized.
This isn't fair, this isn't comforting, but it's the way it is.
How you respond to our rapidly shifting social order will determine how much you enjoy your life.
But think of it this way.
Every generation of primates-to-humans, from the time we split from chimps to very recently, has been fathered by males with high authority.
That means YOU have the genes and instincts within you for high authority.
But they still need to be cultivated.
Strengthened.
Nobody's going to do it for you.
